Sue is the secretary (so does all the admin!!) and very much an important part of the trio who are the lead of The Autumn Group! Sue is originally from Essex and comes from a background in retail and admin so her skills in these areas are very much appreciated within the working of The Autumn Group.
Sue has 2 adult sons and is also legal guardian of 2 younger children, the youngest having an Attachment Disorder which leads to challenging behaviour. Whilst Sue does not have family members affected by Autism she has a very objective point of view which is crucial as this adds another dimension of empathy in how The Autumn Group supports families! She has watched Sue battle as a carer from when her daughter was very young, and all the stress, turmoil and isolation she has gone through. This has given Sue the ethos of supporting families in ways they need. She also obviously has her own experiences with local authority which also comes in handy! She is the first to offer a shoulder to cry on if needed, even to the other members of the team. Sue is a very moral, nonjudgmental and honest woman who totally believes in “wrong and right” so will go out of her way in her beliefs and for others in a blink of an eye!
Emotional and Empathetic support to parent/carers & other family members in caring roles specifically in Autism and Aspergers in a warm, friendly environment.
