The Autumn Group is a registered charity- 1146731- that focuses on supporting families caring for children and adults affected by Autism who live in Greater Manchester.

We advocate for families, provide advice, signposting, referrals & useful information but more importantly empathetic and emotional support.  We also offer the opportunity to meet other families, as by knowing that you are not alone and being able to share experiences and knowledge can be as invaluable as a parent.  Meeting other people who do fully understand and empathise as to how difficult, stressful and isolating it can be when caring for those affected by Autism and knowing you and your child will not be judged in any way can work wonders on self-esteem, confidence and therefore can have a positive effect on how families feel and care for each other.

The Autumn Group also provide workshops in various areas of Disability, Autism, Sensory Processing issues and Caring.  We organise and hold Social activities for children/young people and also Social events for parents and adult family members.

We are proud to be a charity whose aims are meaningful and constructive and we strive to make positive differences for families.

It is also important not to forget that families are entitled to have fun too and to enjoy themselves the same as any other family does!

Our workshops are delivered in partnership with experienced and qualified practitioners so parents and carers can be offered the highest quality of workshop, these include Occupational Therapy and The Challenging Behaviour Foundation.

Our Social activities are developed in ways that families can come along and not be judged whilst their children have fun. We offer extra support by experienced staff if families need this but more importantly we offer an opportunity for families to meet others in a social environment that is adapted to them not society.  We hold Sensory discos, Multi-Sensory play days, Physical activities and Donkey Sanctuary days to name but a few!

Our Social events for parents, carers and adult family members are the opportunity to get a short break, have fun and think about themselves for a change.  These events are organised across Greater Manchester and can range from themed fancy dress discos to meals out.  It’s not often parents and carers get the chance do something for themselves so we aim to support parents and carers in doing so!
